Robert Pattinson might have to be prepared to lose some of his fans once New Moon is released. Taylor Lautner is going to be the hunk of the next Twilight flick so Rob will have to be content with being hunk no 2.
Taylor told Life & Style: "I wanted to get 'Twilight' over with, let Edward have his time with Bella and get moving with New Moon. It's about time Jacob got in there.".
It is thought that Taylor and Kristen's chemistry onscreen could rival Rob and Kristen's chemistry in Twilight. All we know is that Kristen is one lucky girl.

Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively), Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. 90210 redux star AnnaLynne McCord–rumored real-life girlfriend of Kellan Lutz–could be playing Heidi in New Moon, E! reports—

Heidi isn’t a major character in the book, but McCord definitely has the gorgeous looks to pull it off.

The character is a “fisher” who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She’s also known as “bait” because of the way she uses her stunning looks to attract humans. In her brief appearance in the book, Bella describes Heidi as having “exceptional, unforgettable” beauty. She has stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes.

Sources tell me McCord has auditioned for the role. “It’s not a big part,” one of the sources said. “Heidi would be more like a cameo.”

Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, the sister of

alongside Lutz, who plays older brother Emmett Cullen.

“We are both confirmed to be a part of it,” he said before retracting only slightly. “I’m still waiting — crossing fingers.”

Both
actors said they are thrilled over the return of Taylor Lautner, who
plays Jacob Black, a young man/werewolf (and the best friend of Kristen
Stewart’s Bella Swan), to the franchise.

“I’m so proud of him,” Lutz said

But
one of their co-stars, Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent, an old-school
style vampire in the series, said he actually said he saw Lautner’s
transformation as it happened.

“I
actually worked out with him,” Gathegi revealed to Access last night.
“We were working out in Australia together and working out across the
country, so I saw it happening. I was there on the front lines. He was
a little shrimp and he’s somewhat of a man now.”

Gathegi who will appear in “New Moon,” told Access the film would begin shooting in early spring.

“We start shooting in March in Vancouver and in Italy,” he said.
